COVID-19 Vaccine Availability

COVID-19 vaccine candidates are being offered through an Emergency Use Authorization by the Food and Drug Administration. The vaccine is being administered in phases to DoD uniformed service members, both the active and Selected Reserve components, including members of the National Guard; dependents; retirees; civilian employees, and selected DoD contract personnel as authorized in accordance with DoD regulation.

The vaccine is being offered on a voluntary basis, but priority populations are highly encouraged to get it. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine protects yourself, your family, your community and our nation. To learn more about the phased plan and DoD priorities, visit: www.health.mil/COVIDVaccine.

Getting the COVID-19

At this time, Tyndall is working to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine per the DoD population schema (shown right) as supply allows.

All DoD personnel will continue to wear appropriate masks, practice physical distancing, wash hands, and follow restriction of movement to protect our safety as a large portion of the population will need to be vaccinated before COVID-19 risks diminish.

Active Duty / GS / Contractors

Active Duty, GS, and Contracted personnel working on Tyndall, AFB should continue to monitor work and personal emails as this is how they will be notified of their eligibility for the COVID-19 Vaccination.

As a reminder, the decision to opt in or out of receiving the vaccine can be made at any time.

Non-Active Duty TRICARE Beneficiaries

As COVID-19 Vaccination appointments become available and unavailable, eligible TRICARE beneficiaries in Tyndall’s catchment area will receive an automated message with more information on how to receive the vaccine. As phone providers allow, eligible beneficiaries will receive this message if their contact information is up to date and accurate in DEERS.

Tyndall will also post updates to our Facebook Page, @325thMedicalGroup, as vaccination appointments become available and unavailable. To receive these notifications “like” our Facebook Page.
